Estonia to support curbing spread of coronavirus in world’s poorest countries

TALLINN – Estonia is to allocate 100,000 euros for the prevention of the spread of the novel coronavirus and mitigation of the consequences of the virus in the world’s poorest countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on countries and health organizations around the world to support the poorest countries in the fight against the coronavirus, spokespeople for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu said that Estonia, in solidarity with other governments, wishes to contribute to preventing an epidemic with a global spread. “The coronavirus has spread around the entire world. If we want to get the spread of the virus under control and protect the health of all of us, we must be able to do so in all countries of the world,” he added. (The Baltic Times)
